Traveling to Szeged
How to get to Szeged
By car, if arriving from Budapest, take the
M5 motorway (toll road, vignette can be bought at gas stations or
online). After arriving in Szeged (170 km), follow the maps linked below.
From other directions, there are no motorways, so you may need to use a
detailed map.
Trains are leaving from Budapest Nyugati station every hour :50 minutes ( timetable to Szeged and back). If you arrive by plane to Budapest Ferihegy Airport
Terminal 1, you can change directly to the train (every hour :12). In case you arrive to Terminal 2, you need to take bus number 200 or a cab to Terminal 1 and change there.
We suggest you buy an Intercity ticket for the train, the full fare to Szeged costs 2.890 HUF - including seat reservation. Tickets at Terminal 1 are available at the Tourinform helpdesk (open from 9 am 'till 10 pm) in cash (please note that they accept only HUF). If possible, buy your tickets before boarding the train - although you have the possibility to purchase tickets from the conductor on the train.
